Jill Marie Nicolini (born January 10, 1978) is a well-known American television reporter, former reality TV participant, former model, and actress. She is widely recognized for her role as a traffic reporter on WPIX 11 Morning News in New York City.

Early Life and Education

Jill Nicolini was born in Farmingville, New York, and completed her high school education at Sachem North High School in 1996. She briefly attended Stony Brook University for one year. Her journey into the media industry began in 1997 when she joined WBLI Radio on Long Island.

In 2000, while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts at the New York Institute of Technology, Nicolini started reporting for LI News Tonight. Her multifaceted career soon took her to the New York Islanders, where she became the arena announcer, and to the New York Dragons Arena Football team as a dancer.

Modeling and Entertainment Career

Before establishing herself as a reporter, Nicolini made her living as a model. In 2001, she attempted to become the official live-action model for Vampirella but was unsuccessful. She also had minor roles in four feature films and appeared in six TV shows, including HBO’s Sex and the City and NBC’s Law & Order.

Broadcasting Career

Jill Nicolini’s broadcasting career took off in 2002 when she became an on-camera traffic reporter at Long Island’s Metro & Traffic and Weather Channel, as well as News 12/Long Island. Her career briefly faced controversy in 2002 when she was stripped of her Miss Long Island title due to her prior nude appearance in Playboy’s “College Girls” Special Edition in 2001.

She spent Christmas holidays in Iraq in 2009 and 2010 with local servicepersons, facilitating live satellite connections between troops and their families back home. She has actively supported various charities, including the John Theissen Children’s Foundation, Little Shelter Animal Rescue, Alliance for Lupus Research, PETA, The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, The National Institute of Natural Sciences, and The Arthritis Foundation.

In October 2013, Jill Nicolini worked as a traffic reporter and fill-in host on Live From The Couch on WLNY-TV. Following this, she served as a traffic reporter for CBS 2 News This Morning on WCBS-TV.

In October 2014, Nicolini revealed her pregnancy, expecting a baby boy.

In Spring 2017, she returned to WPIX, resuming her role as a traffic reporter for the station’s weekday morning newscast.
