Gazal Dhaliwal is an Indian Film Actress and a Writer. She was born in Patiala, Punjab, India as Gunraj Singh Dhaliwal. She mainly works in Bollywood film industry. Gazal made her acting career debut in 2015 with a short film named Agli Baar. In 2016, she made her debut as a writer with movie ‘Wazir’.
In 2007, Gazal Dhaliwal underwent a Sex Reassignment Surgery (SRS) and her gender was completely changed from male to female. She started her career as a software engineer at Infosys Technologies Ltd. She left her job to become a writer and studied filmmaking from the Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) in Mumbai.
Gazal Dhaliwal was born and raised in Punjab by her father Bhajan Partap Singh Dhaliwal and mother Sukarni Dhaliwal. She did her schooling from Budha Dal Public School, Patiala and later finished her B.Tech in Chemical Engineeringfrom Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur.
Gazal also appeared in Satyamev Jayate Season 3 in an episode of Accepting Alternate Sexualities. She has worked as a writer for several movies like ‘Wazir’ (2016), ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ (2016), ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’ (2017), ‘A Monsoon Date’, etc.
