Harnaaz Sandhu is all set to represent India in the 70th edition of the Miss Universe beauty pageant which will be held in Israel. On Thursday, Harnaaz Sandhu from Chandigarh bags the title of Miss Universe India 2021. She was crowned by Kriti Sanon, known for her exquisite choice of films and acting skills.
Harnaaz Sandhu is a 21-year-old from Chandigarh who has finished her school and college there. She has been in this glamourous industry for sometime now as she has already bagged numerous pageant titles and has starred in Punjabi films like Yaara Diyan Poo Baran and Bai Ji Kuttange.
She enjoys acting, singing, dancing, yoga, swimming, horse riding and cooking. She was also the winner of Times Fresh Face Miss Chandigarh 2017. Along with this, she was the winner of Miss Max Emerging Star India 2018 and Femina Miss India Punjab 2019. She fell short of 11 spots and lost the title of Femina Miss India 2019.
She is now a contestant of India’s Miss Universe 2021 after winning the Miss Universe India title.
Harnaaz Sandhu crowned Miss Universe 2021:
Harnaaz Sandhu is the new Miss Universe 2021! The 21-year-old from Punjab, representing India at the 70th Miss Universe 2021, held in Eilat, Israel, brought home the crown, 21 years after Lara Dutta won the title in 2000. She edged out contestants Paraguay and South Africa to claim the crown. Sandhu was presented the crown by Andrea Meza, former Miss Universe 2020 from Mexico at the event which was live-streamed globally.
After wooing the judges in the preliminary competition, Harnaaz oozed confidence and grace as she took over the runway for the swimsuit round. Dressed in a stunning maroon cap-sleeved swimsuit, Harnaaz impressed all and sealed her spot in the top 10.
As part of the top three round, the contestants were asked, “What advice would you give to young women watching on how to deal with the pressures they face today”
To this, Harnaaz said, “The biggest pressure the youth of today is facing, is to believe in themselves. To know that you are unique makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourselves with others and let’s talk about more important things that are happening worldwide. Come out, speak for yourself, because you are the leader of your life. You are the voice of your own. I believed in myself and that is why I am standing here today.”
Harnaaz impressed all when she said, “My heart breaks to see how nature is going through a lot of problems, and it is all due to our irresponsible behaviour. I totally feel that this is the time to take action and talk less. Because our each action could save or kill nature. Prevent and protect is better than repent and repair and this is what I am trying to convince you guys today.”
Harnaaz Sandhu Career:
The 21 year old is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public administration.
Her beauty pageant journey started at age 17 when she participated in the Times Fresh Face pageant in 2017.
In 2019 she represented Punjab at the Femina Miss India beauty pageant and made it to the Top 12.
Prepping to bring home the Miss Universe crown, Harnaaz says, “My aim is to be the best version of India and represent myself beautifully on the international platform.
As per sources she studies from Shivalik School in Chandigarh and did higher Education from Government College Girls Chandigarh.
