Sameera Bharadwaj is a playback singer who has worked in Telugu and Tamil language film songs.
Popular for the super hit song Telusa Telusa from Sarrainodu, singer Sameera Bharadwaj is one of the most sought-after playback singers of Telugu cinema now. Born in Vijayawada and brought up in different parts of the country like Bhadrachalam, Chennai and Hyderabad, Sameera has pursued B Com in marketing.
Having learnt music right from childhood, Sameera says that becoming a playback singer was her ambition. “I wanted to see myself as a singer. Music is my passion and I worked so hard to reach this place. I feel that everyday is a new day and I have to learn a lot more as I’ve a long way to go. When I entered the field initially, I was excited a lot and slowly I am trying to make it consistent,” said the budding singer.
Sameera has made her debut with the movie Shivam under the music direction of Devi Sri Prasad. Before that, she lent her voice to around 200 songs for movies dubbed into Telugu. Sameera has sung quite a good number of songs and has a few more upcoming ones as well.
When asked to what extent do music reality shows help budding artistes in making their career, Sameera says, “They are definitely useful. One can become a singing sensation overnight and they need not wait for years for the golden opportunity to come their way. Especially in shows where youngsters take part, these kinds of wonders happen. But, despite participating in music reality shows, it would take kids decades to reach that position.”
Sameera says that Telusa Telusa is her favourite song among the ones she has sung till now and adds that veteran singer Susheela has praised her for the way she sang the song.
